Qena Sint'isis has finished its two month appearance at the Pratt Museum and I want to thank everyone who visited and allowed me the time and space to share the project's ideas. I want to especially thank the museum staff for all of their help in organizing the exhibit and its coordinating events. Specifically I have to thank my good friend and designer Érico Nascimento for his work on the project and for his presentation at Seeing Language: Writing in Art and Design, the public seminar that discussed some of the deeper significance and history of text as it related to the exhibit.
Additional pieces that were specifically made to be introduced at the museum's gallery have been added to the Qena Sint'isis page gallery for viewing. I've also posted a file of the companion guidebook printed for the Pratt exhibit which includes further writing about the inspirations and symbolism of each character produced for the Qena Sint'isis Dena'ina Alphabet.
For the past several months I have been working on the foundations of a new art series addressing new themes. Over this summer I will be sharing more details about it as it evolves and coalesces. I've also done some archiving and taken down some of the less developed project pages to make room for what I feel are more formalized collections. These aren't "gone forever" but I do want to narrow my focus to make documentation and record-keeping a little bit easier.
Thank you to everyone again, and please feel free to e-mail me at argent@argentkvasnikoff.com if you have any questions or sales queries. I am always available.
