This summer has been hectic, and if you have been following me on Instagram you'll know already that I have been on a near month long hiatus from work due to a medical operation. I am nearly fully recovered and already getting back to making more pieces and preparing for new opportunities. I only have three short bits to share:
First of all, I have added a handful of new work to the Haptomnemonic topography gallery. I realize that there are not many of these original works explicitly for sale in the store, okay, maybe just one, but I am more than welcome to pricing and purchasing inquiries about any of my originals. It will just take a little extra time to work out the details for those requests.
Next, during my hiatus I couldn't completely keep myself from doing work, so while on bed rest I finished a secret project that I have been working on for quite a few months, if not years including daydream visualizations. What I have finished is designing an alphabet and writing system for my culture's endangered Dena'ina language. The alphabet and its related art series titled Qena Sint'isis have a new page in the Works section where you can see one of the first iterations of all 44 letters (yes, 44!). These symbols are not absolutely finalized as I am methodically taking the time to learn to write them naturally, and as all writing has done since the beginning of hieroglyphics, the symbols start to evolve into their own communicative spirits from their symbological roots.
Finally, I am currently in progress of securing a date for my first solo show next year and when (and if) it becomes official I will announce it first via my Instagram feed @argentkvasnikoff Last year I had set a wishful goal to have a solo show in 2016, and it may very well come to happen sooner than anticipated. Cross your fingers!
As always, thank you for your support, and feel free to e-mail me anytime at argent@argentkvasnikoff.com or follow me on Instagram @argentkvasnikoff
